Therapeutic Indications Prophylaxis of neurotoxicity due to chemotherapeutic treatment with cisplatin or related products. Hepatopathies of various etiologies, including alcohol and drugs. 

Posology and method of administration: Posology The daily dose of TAD usually recommended for patients undergoing chemotherapy with cisplatin and related products is 1.5 g/m² (corresponding to 2.5 g) administered by slow intravenous infusion. The dosage, however, is dependent on age, weight and clinical conditions of the patient and should also be related to the dose and the administration schedule of the chemotherapeutic agent. In case of simultaneous administration of glutathione and the chemotherapeutic agent, the intravenous infusion of TAD should be performed 15-30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy. In case of long term treatments, the lower dosages of the product can be employed (600 mg) to be administered by the intramuscular route or slowly by the intravenous route. 

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient. 

Special warnings and precautions for use Warning: Products for parenteral use should be visually inspected before administration, when the container or the solution make it possible, in order to possibly detect the presence of particles or of an abnormal colour. Do not use in case of presence of turbidity or precipitates. 

Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interactions: No reports of pharmacological interactions with glutathione have been reported in the literature. At the recommended doses, TAD does not interfere with the therapeutic activity of the chemotherapeutic agent. 

Fertility, pregnancy and Lactation: The available data show that glutathione, being a substance physiologically present in cells, does not cause unwanted effects in women during pregnancy or breast feeding. Preclinical studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to pregnancy, embryonal/foetal development, parturition or postnatal development. 

Effects on ability to drive and use machines: TAD has no or negligible influence on the performance related to driving or using machines.
